Not sure I agree, though, that if you attract them then you are stable. Usually the opposite is true--unstable people attract other unstable people, just not the same kind of unstable. Leeches usually prey on their opposites: &quot;nice&quot; people who don&#039;t know how to say no. 

Truly stable people don&#039;t put up with this kind of stuff, and the leeches know it so they focus their attention elsewhere.
